have been a member of SEIU for 3 years as of September 1, 2011, then this
scholarship reminder probably applies to you.
SEIU currently awards 51 scholarships through four different scholarship
programs that enable members and their children to pursue their educational
goals at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools.
Eligibility: SEIU's scholarships are open to SEIU members or
their children.The Bonnie Ladin Scholarship is also open to local union staff.

Lottery Scholarship Program
The SEIU Scholarship Program offers
forty-eight (48) $1,000 and $1,500 scholarships. To qualify for a lottery
drawing selection process, applicants must correctly answer all the questions on

Foner Scholarship Program For Visual and Performing Arts
In the
spirit of continuing the life work of the late Moe Foner, the founder of the
SEIU 1199 Bread and Roses Cultural
Project, SEIU offers a $5,000 scholarship to members and their children who
are pursuing a degree or full-time training in the visual or performing arts.

Jesse Jackson Scholarship Program
The $5,000 SEIU Jesse Jackson
scholarship is awarded to a student whose work and aspirations for economic and
social justice reflect the values and accomplishments of the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Bonnie Ladin Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Bonnie
Ladin, who was an organizer at SEIU for 20 years and played an integral role in
building SEIU to make it the union it has become. In 2010, after a long battle
with cancer, Bonnie passed away at the age of 59. The scholarship is designated
